Our Story
After tasting nearly every smash burger in LA, we (Noah Zaret and Dylan Walsh) set out to create burgers that feel familiar yet distinctive.
Sunset Smash began as a summer pop-up tent on Sunset Boulevard in Pacific Palisades in 2023. Community support quickly turned our passion project into a full-time operation, first with a borrowed truck, then with our own fully built food truck.
When fires destroyed both our homes and our truck—after we’d served around 1,000 free meals to first responders—we relocated to Brentwood, where we’re still smashing today and catering across the city.
Now approaching our third year, Sunset Smash stays true to its roots: quality ingredients, consistency, and serious flavor.
